The Mission:
Appreciating the coffee culture through education and entertainment, with
passion.
Koffee Korner is an entertainment and
reference website maintained by a coffee enthusiast, Miku B. Sippy, who hails from
Singapore, and who is a resident of Hong Kong since 23 years. In addition to the mission,
Koffee Korner maintains a list of the popular coffee corners located around Hong Kong,
where one can enjoy a good cup of brew without visiting the more expensive cafes or
hotels.
The web server for www.koffeekorner.com
is physically located in California, USA, which is "connected" via fast
redundant T3 links.
You will notice that the author has made every effort to
obtain the necessary permission or right to publish the materials and cartoons relating to
coffee. This include the graphics as there a large number of them, particularly those
relating to history of coffee. This also enhances the value of the site as an educational
and as a source of reference.
As far as possible, this website avoid or make minimal use
of dynamic graphics (including animated ones), javascripts or frames. Instead, the author
improves the site's navigation and provide links. There are no advertising banners. This
is a deliberate policy to keep access convenient, relevant and fast. And enjoyable.
Much effort has been expended in developing Koffee Korner.
Though there are numerous good sources relating to coffee, sadly, many of the sites that
maintain a list of the coffee-related links are outdated or non-existent. Also, most of
the well-maintained coffee websites are usually of commercial nature.
The author aim to make Koffee Korner the best coffee-based educational and reference
website on the Internet. If you know of any useful bits and pieces about coffee, the
author would be delighted to hear from you. His email address is barista@koffeekorner.com .
Koffee Korner is developed using MS FrontPage 98 as the main
web-based tool, primarily for ease of design, development and minimal maintenance
requirements.

Koffee Korner was officially established on 16 March
1998. Since mid-July 98 Koffee Korner has won several quality awards and reviews such as:

Promising to revive your passion for coffee, Koffee
Korner is definitely the home for coffee connoisseurs on the web. The main feature of the
site is a list of the popular coffee corners located around Hong Kong, where one can enjoy
a good cup of brew without visiting the more expensive cafes or hotels, and the site
purveyor has done an admiral job of collecting and presenting this data. But there is so
much more to this site, and it is an excellent source for anyone who really loves coffee
and wants to learn more. Presented with absolutely no ads and an easy-to-navigate
interface, visitors will definitely want to check out the Koffee Talk area, (where
commonly-used terms are defined) and the Recipes area.

September 98:
"And despite those coy K's used in the name of the
site, it turned out to be a pleasant place to visit, full of useful information and lore
about the fragrant brew. Most useful of all, perhaps, to those who live in or frequently
visit Hong Kong, as one of its features is a detailed chart indicating the best places in
town to get a cup of coffee. But there is plenty of other material to investigate,
including the history of coffee, beginning with legends of its origins. The page has an
infectious enthusiasm for its subject, and succeeded in at least one case in sending the
visitor straight to the kitchen to brew up a potful. At the very least, you'll come away
from Koffee Korner knowing what a "barista" is, if you don't
already."

COFFEE BOOST "The perfect

the history and rituals of coffee as I am in the history of Diet Coke. This is, however,
